Introduction to Acrylics | Instructor Glenn Morgan

Course Outline: This course is for students with little or no experience with acrylic painting. Topics discussed will include: Choosing a subject, composition and design, perspective, tones and values, color and color temperature, underpainting techniques.

    Beginner Card-making | Instructor Frances Henry

    Ever marvelled at hand-made cards? Want to learn how to make your own? During this class you will make 3 fabulous but simple cards that will guide you through the basic card-making techniques and tricks of the trade. You will learn about the different kinds of adhesives, introductory tool use and basic stamping all while working on your own creations. Come join us for this fun and inspiring class!

    Intermediate Card-making | Instructor Frances Henry

    If you already know basic technique, come to this new and more advanced class! Here you will learn how to use the versatile new micro-glitter for the stunning "burnished velvet" look, and how to play with embossing powder . We will also be learning how to make an interactive pop-up card with a technique known as the "waterfall". Previous experience with either card-making or scrapbooking would be an asset.     THEATRE CLASSES IN TSAWWASSEN

    Shakespeare Stories | Instructor Nitasha Rajoo

    Ages 9-12 years | 2-week Workshop | $140/student
    August 4-8th (Tues-Sat) and August 10-15 (Mon-Sat) | 11:30 to 1:30pm | Tsawwassen Arts Centre

    Suitcase Theatre presents a two week workshop on Shakespeare's Stories and helps re-create scenes from this historical era. Students will learn to appreciate the language and develop characters with status and poser. Students will also be introduced into the basic elements of stage combat. By the end of the series, students will have created a presentation that helps discover Shakespeare's words in an imaginative scene.

    Flipped-Out Fairytales | Instructor Nitasha Rajoo

    Suitcase Theatre presents a two week workshop on modernized fairytales. Students will take a well-known fairytale and create a modernized, hip and zany new version! Incorporating the basic drama skills of imagination, facial expressions and over exaggeration of gestures and movements, students will for on an explorative and creative journey of their characters.

    Imagine If... | Instructor Frances Henry

    Imagine if...you were a pirate, or a princess/knight or maybe even a mad scientist! You can be at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre this July. Come join us for a three day kids camp for an afternoon filled with games, theatre sports, crafts and costume-making! Everyday will be a new adventure taking you from the deck of the Jolly Roger to the castle at Camelot and ending at Dr. Jekyll's laboratory.

    This course is designed for teens who want to learn about the business of getting started in commercials. This will teach you a little bit about what to expect in an audition, as well as how to present yourself and communicate who you are quickly and effectively. You will be taught the etiquette of handling copy and props. And finally, what to do when you get the job!

    This is a series of 5 classes in which students will learn safe ways to create fight scenes on stage. Students will learn to fall, hit, punch, and create dramatic death scenes in this class. Taught in a very friendly and safe environment where students will be encouraged and innovative.

  • This fun-filled four day camp focuses on motivating young actors and actresses to participate in and learn various drama skills, including drama games, character building, miming and puppetry.     Intermediate [ages 10-14]:
  • Young actors and actresses will participate in various engaging and entertaining activities while brushing up on the basics of acting through character and scene building, mask activities, and improvisation.
